Titan Fitness Wall Mounted Pull Up Bar – Best Value For Your Money

best wall mounted pull up barsThe first pull up bar featured on this list is made by Titan Fitness which are one of America’s leading online distributor of fitness products so we really couldn’t expect anything but quality from them – and that’s what they’ve done with this chin up bar.

Featured in Men’s Journal, the Titan Wall Mounted Chin Up Bar is a sturdy and durable Heavy Duty bar is a perfect addition to your home gym that will last you for many years to come.

Its heavyweight steel construction gives it a solid feel and guarantees stability and the ability to hold up to 500lbs.

Finished with a Matte black powder coating that prevents it from becoming slippery which is great if you plan on doing a lot of sets of pull ups, chin ups or even muscle ups (assuming you have enough space between the bar and the ceiling).

The only thing that seems to be holding people back is the mounting hardware kit that comes with it for the assembly of the product.

Some reviewer’s state that it’s almost worthless and some go as far as to say that the bolts are even dangerous to use as they seem to be very cheap.

So, be prepared to use mounting hardware of your own if you decide to go with this bar.

Titan Fitness HD Multi Grip Wall Mounted Pull Up Bar

best wall mounted pull up barsThis is the second pull up bar made by Titan that’s made it to our list. And for good reason.

This Pull Up Bar although slightly more expensive than its counterpart is also of great quality and built to last due to its heavy duty construction. It supports up to 600lbs and is finished with a slip resistance powder coating to help with your grip.

The main distinctive feature from the previous Titan Bar is the fact that this one has a multi-grip design making it more versatile. So if neutral grip pull ups are a staple of your workout or if you simply like changing up your grips from time to time to keep the movement fresh and challenging, you’ll find it pretty useful.

The central grips can also be used to anchor gymnastics rings, TRX, ropes and the like.

With that being said, I really don’t like the fact that the unit seems not to come with mounting hardware or instructions.
So be sure you’re comfortable or have experience with mounting these type of stuff or this can be a huge issue when it comes to assembling the bar onto your wall.

In short, a great versatile chin up bar of great quality that will definitely get the job done. Just be sure you have some handyman skills before buying!

Holding up to 800lbs in total weight capacity and designed in a multi-grip fashion to allow you to change up your grips and target your muscles a little bit differently by using different grips and widths, you can’t go wrong with this one.

It’s finished with a coating that prevents rust from forming and all the necessary mounting hardware and instructions come with the package so you can assemble everything yourself.

Beware though, if your walls are made of plaster or drywall, you’ll need to attach the bar to a place on the wall directly into a stud as the studs can help support the weight of heavy objects.

Ultimate Body Press Wall Mount Pull Up Bar – Good For Home Use

best wall mounted pull up barsThe next unit we’re reviewing on this list is the Wall Mount Pull Up Bar by Ultimate Body Press that sports four different grip positions you can use to bang out some really wide grip pull-ups.

I like that they have taken action based on Amazon user feedback and have upgraded their design for 2019. The bar is now a 42” wide single piece chin-up bar that is now mounted on the risers for better durability.

Based on this same feedback, they have also upgraded their bolts in the hardware mounting kit with larger diameters. In addition to that, the company has also increased its steel thickness on the bar itself as well as on the mounting plates by 30%.

It’s made to be installed on standard 16” on-center wall studs and all the mounting hardware, a template and instructions are included with the package. Plus, USA tech support is included so you shouldn’t have much trouble with the installation process.

One thing I don’t like about this pull-up bar is that the clearance between the bar and the wall is only 14”, so if you plan on doing any muscle-up training or kipping pull-ups, you’re probably going to hit your feet on the wall. Look out for that.

In short, this is a decent pull-up bar with four grip positions at an affordable price. It’ll definitely let you bang out some pull-ups and is pretty unobtrusive so I think is good if you’re planning on working out in your room but not something you’d want to buy for a serious garage gym type of thing.

Gear Specifications
Parallel grip wall to tips: 21”

Parallel grip length: 5.5”

Distance wall to the bar: 14”

Pull up bar width: 42”

Mounting hole spacing: 16” on-center

Mounting hole vertical spacing: 7.87”

Mounting plate height: 9.5”

Mounting plate width: 3”

Weight: 12.8lbs

Pros:

  • 4 grip positions with high-density foam
  • Non-slip knurled steel (if you’re not into foam)
  • All mounting hardware, mounting template & instructions included
  • USA Tech support available
  • Easy mounting to 16” on-center residential wall studs
  • Affordable

Cons:

  • Clearance from wall to bar only 14”
  • May not be sturdy enough for advanced trainees

Wall Mounted Pull Up Bars – Buyer’s Guide and Considerations

Installation

Well, one of the main things you should take into consideration is whether or not you can actually set the bar on your wall.

Some pull-up bars can only be mounted on 16” on-center wall studs and maybe your wall studs are set further away from each other than that and you can’t actually install the equipment.

Some chin-up bars may require you to have a decent degree of handymen skills because they may not come with their own mounting hardware and you might find yourself having to run to Home Depot or something to get your own.

Which brings me to my next point – make sure you have some tools laying around or be prepared to get some.

You will most likely need a power drill, a socket wrench, a hammer, and other similar tools.

Room Available To You

Keep in mind the space available to you both in terms of total bar width, bar depth and also the space you have between the bar and your ceiling. Keep this in mind especially if you have low ceilings, we don’t want you hitting your head!

I recommend you take the measurements of the place on which you want to install the bar onto and taking it from there.

Weight Capacity

You’ll also want to make sure the chin up bar can actually hold your weight, especially if you plan on doing heavy weighted pull-ups or hanging a heavy bag from your pull up bar.

While most of these bars are pretty sturdy and can, therefore, hold a lot of weight keep this in mind when making your purchase, although this will most likely not be a problem for most people.

Individual Needs and Preferences

Make sure the bar is tailored for your individual needs and goals. If you’re someone who enjoys doing a lot of different grip pull ups – like neutral grip – or does crazy dynamic moves like muscle ups or 360 pull ups, you might want to choose a pull-up bar that supports those needs and goals.

In this case, you’d want to choose a bar with different grip options and that has a decent clearance from the wall, at least 30”. You get my point.

Mounting Process

Here’s a video by a guy named Ian Cramer where he installs his own wall mounted pull up bar that might serve as some guidance and inspiration to you.

In the video, he’s installing the Titan Fitness Wall Mounted Pull Up Bar but if that doesn’t help you out you can always try to find another video on YouTube of the installment of your specific product, or maybe reach out to the brand you’ve chosen and I’m certain you’ll sort things out!

Final Words – Wrapping It Up

When it comes to choosing the right product keep in mind your individual needs and goals as well as the resources available to you whether that’d be your budget or simply the space you have at your disposal to set the bar onto.

We hope that this list has been helpful and that we’ve helped you choose the pull-up bar which you feel will be the best fit for your home or garage gym.
